Pretty papers and ribbon

I mentioned previously how much I liked this hand stitched binding on wedding programs. In addition, I've gotten it in my head that it'd be pretty cool to have square programs as well.

An alternative to the stitching might be some really great ribbon that ties all my colors together. See bottom left above. And/or adding a bit of a scalloped edge like these below would be fun and in keeping with my retro theme.

I definitely want fun paper and designs to tie everything at the wedding together. Save the dates, invites, programs, packaging for the bird seed for the going away at the end. And more I'm sure!

Vintage Winter Capelet

It would be easy enough to recreate the pattern of this vintage capelet. Maybe even adding a more elaborate closure.

Vintage wedding dress patterns

I love these. It's amazing how patterns so old can look so fresh. I especially like the covered sleeves. Everything I see in the stores with sleeves these days looks either frumpy or dated.

A modern yet retro cake

I may have just come across the perfect modern yet retro cake for our wedding. Color to be determined, but I love the simplicity of the design.

I'm fawning...

...over these shoes. Not sure they'll work with my dress, but the designer definitely has the retro thing down!

Lemonheads

If I do go with a yellow theme, particulary with any type of retro feel, I think it'd be really fun to do lemonheads as favors!

Definitely wanting a birdcage veil

What do you think?

I might even make my own if I can get the right lace. Does anyone know where i can get high end lace like this (not tulle).

Or if I really want to go retro, there's always this version of the pillbox birdcage veil...Not sure if that's me though.

I'm absolutely open to suggestions if you guys want to post links in the comments to other veils I should consider. I do think I want to stay with this overall style however.

I think this last one is super stylish but I just worry I'd feel like i had a weird little circle on my head...

There are so many wonderful handmade pieces on Etsy, particularly from Batcakes Couture and Artikal. All the images shown here are from these two designers.

By the way, does anyone know why they call them "fascinators"?
