Are those handwritten?

Although I'm going to give calligraphy a shot for my wedding invites, I also like this idea from Design*Sponge for a custom look without as much painstaking effort.

The trick is to print the addresses to your envelopes in a dark, handwritten font, and then trace over them in a white marker. I think a metallic might also look nice.

I'm utterly smitten with these new wedding invite designs from Kenzie Kate designs, particularly the Nottinghill cityscape. Plus, they're yellow!

I think I might go with something like this for the wedding. Let's see what Alex thinks...

I wonder if I can somehow take some inspiration from this letterpress poster to create our own invites for the wedding...

Letterpress invitations

If there's one thing I might like to splurge on wedding-wise (beyond the honeymoon), it wouldn't be the flowers or the dress, it would definitely be letterpress invitations.

Given that I do design work, I could easily whip up my own invites, so I've been leaning toward that. However, I can't do my own letterpress -- or at least I haven't figured it out yet -- given the equipment involved. Open to suggestions from you guys. I should see if Etsy offers classes.

Until I do figure it out, I'll have my eye on this invitation above from Smock.

Yellow and Silver

I like how this silver/grey accent changes up the yellow theme. I especially like the geometric print on the envelope. Not sure I'd go with a bow though.

What do you think? Do you have other suggestions for me?
