Yellow Bouquets

We're doing our own bouquets. Originally, I had planned to go down to Houston's flower district on Fannin, but some friends recently mentioned that they aren't the freshest and the selection isn't what it used to be.

My sister does a lot of flower arranging however and has a place that she orders from.

Since I'll now be ordering in advance, I need to figure out our flowers. I'd been thinking about yellow for the bridesmaids and white/off-white for me, but I might mix in some yellow with mine as well.

The yellow bouquet above is just perfect though! I'd also like to mix in some green and even some succulents.

After a bit more looking, this arrangement below would be the perfect mix for me! Love the dangling accents too. (I'm sure that's the technical term).

Wedding Photo Wall

I've posted previously on the photo wall I want to have and possible props that might be fun. I'm still thinking through the logistics of it but absolutely love this chalkboard speech bubble. I think I might have just found the perfect photo accent!

Fun wedding details

I love both of these ideas featured on Brooklyn Bride.

They both have that fun whimsical touch I love. The baggie would be perfect for seeds and would be really cute in cross stitch.

Should our photo wall have props?

I wouldn't want to go overboard, but if there's a little area where we snap pics, perhaps we could have a prop or too. Assuming they don't get overused in all the pics.

Like this great photo frame above.

Wedding Hair Comb

Just bought this hair comb for our wedding.

I'm hoping it comes by Friday so my mom and I can make my birdcage veil when she's here next weekend. She's bringing the french lace.

Pool Lights at Night

We're lucky to be having our wedding in my sister's backyard. She's got a great space, huge and green. One of the best parts is the swimming pool and the fountain next to it.

Since it'll be an evening affair, I'm super excited about the floating pool lights we have planned. I can't wait to see it all come together!

Scrumptious dessert buffet

Believe it or not, I'm actually more interested in the cute ribbon and banners than the actual desserts! It's so perfect for a backyard wedding.

Ribbon wrapped fence

This is utterly unique! I've never seen anything like it. Given the long winding road, I love how the ribbon meanders through the boards of the fence as well.

A good idea for a backyard wedding as well.

Wedding Fun and Games

Check out these great photographs from Aruna B. Photography. What a great idea to have games at a back yard wedding! I'll definitely need to consider this! Maybe we should make our wedding earlier in the day for a bit more daylight...

Croquet AND Bocce Ball! Badminton!?! ;)

There are many more photos of this wedding and others on the Aruna B. Photography website.

Yellow Satin Ballet Flats

These adorable little ballet flats get oohs and ahhhs from me! Not sure I can just do flats for the wedding. Definitely seems like a heels occasion, but perhaps these can be my backup shoes as the night progresses. They certainly are inexpensive enough!

Shoes available from The Dessy Group. They come in tons of colors!

Forever

I posted this on my blog Dabble a while back, but in searching for some invitation options, I ran across it again tonight. These are prints rather than cards or invitations however.

Some Etsy artists take custom requests. I think it'd be really fun to do a print with one of the quotes I've posted previously.

But I also think that art work is a great gift for a wedding. Unique and memorable.
Prints available from Amelia Mae on Etsy.
