Happy Friday!

Have a great weekend! I'll be doing lots of wedding stuff this weekend including addressing invites. And my wedding dress just arrived! Yay!

Also, our wedding photographer did a photo shoot for my sister and her family recently, so I'll be sharing photos soon! She's very talented.

The Flashdance Wedding Photography

This animated wedding photography from The Flashdance is brilliant. The moving train of course, but the clouds and the women's skirts blowing in the wind simply amaze me!

I've gotta try for a similar effect with some of our wedding pics. Perhaps standing under our planned balloon canopy. I'm sure there will be a cool effect in the breeze.

The Flashdance is a collaboration between Our Labor of Love photographers, Max Wanger (both featured here previously), and The Human Jukebox.

Juniper + Michael's Engagement Pics

This is like the ultimate engagement photo! Or really, the ultimate photo period. The lighting and the energy are just perfect!

Just Married!!!

I love the classic, old-school nature of the whole "Just Married" thing on the back of the car!

While the flowers are certainly classy, I still love the whole tin can thing too. And ribbons and toulle! Plus that classic cursive Just Married sign!

I'm so excited, I can't wait!!!

Wedding Fun and Games

Check out these great photographs from Aruna B. Photography. What a great idea to have games at a back yard wedding! I'll definitely need to consider this! Maybe we should make our wedding earlier in the day for a bit more daylight...

Croquet AND Bocce Ball! Badminton!?! ;)

There are many more photos of this wedding and others on the Aruna B. Photography website.

A girl can dream

Sweeties and candy-colored shoes. All a girl can ask for!

Let's get married on the F train

Alex and I are both intrigued by the idea of getting married at the Transit Museum here in Brooklyn. It would be a super retro, funky affair.

And best of all, can't you just imagine us walking down the aisle (of the train) -- see above.

I'm officially putting this on the list of viable options, although I'm still waiting to hear back from them regarding pricing.

I went to a book release party there when Kathleen had her story published in the Subway Chronicles, and the venue was definitely fun but still sophisticated.

I can already see our wedding photos -- us posed together behind the ticket counter in the next photo or flirting with each other in the subway car in the last one.

All of these phenomenal photos are via bitchcakesny's Flickr feed and her photographer Billy Woerner.

Another great wedding photo to share

Love the green house, the window and the bride's expression!

Photo via Green Wedding Shoes.

A little inspiration

I love this wedding photo from the New York Times. Very inspiring.

Ironically, both the bride and groom are "dodgeball athletes" according to the article. Learn more about the ceremony here.

I'd like to try and incorporate the floating candles in the vases into our wedding, probably on the tables though. And I'd like to somehow replicate this altar as well. In white more likely. A cross between the one above and this one linked here.

Another great portrait by Gail Chatelain

This wedding portrait is by Gail Chatelain, the same photographer featured in the last post. I love the unique exposure. It's unusual to see something so experimental in wedding photography!

The Knot's Wedding Style Blog

For as much as I've looked at the Knot, somehow I missed their Wedding Style blog. I love the contrast in this "real wedding photo" they featured.

Alex and I took some photos recently as well. I'm hoping the one in front of the weathered door in the garden at the River Cafe turned out. It would have a vibe similar to the one above.

The photography is by Gail Chatelain.
